Hello! My name is Caoimhe, and I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist specialising in Play Therapy. I use creative, client-centered approaches to support children and teenagers to explore and express their inner worlds. I am passionate about the therapeutic powers of play and relationships in supporting growth and development.
What I Offer
-
Play Therapy
Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate approach which supports children to explore their world and their challenges in their own way and in their own time. Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, children can explore their conscious and unconscious worlds through the medium of play, helping them to make sense of their experiences, to develop a deeper sense of self, and supporting their emotional, behavioural, and social development.
-
Adolescent Psychotherapy
Creative psychotherapy with adolescents can support access to the conscious and unconscious mind. The therapeutic relationship provides a safe, non-judgemental space for adolescents to explore their life experiences and struggles, often through creative means such as art, sandtray, and sensory materials.
-
Parenting Support
In addition to working with children, I also offer parenting support sessions. These sessions can be an opportunity to explore how parents can best support both themselves and their child as they face the challenges of life. I am passionate about the power of relationships in promoting healing, and my work with parents focuses on working together to support the family as a whole.

About Me
I work with children and teenagers from a humanistic and integrative standpoint, incorporating a variety of creative, trauma-informed approaches such as art, sandtray, sensory play and movement into my work. Traditional talk therapy can be challenging for children and adolescents, and employing creative and playful approaches in sessions can support clients to feel comfortable to explore their worlds. I place clients’ needs at the centre of my work, and I am driven by my passion for the therapeutic powers of play in healing relationships.
I hold an MA Creative Psychotherapy from Children’s Therapy Centre, and am an accredited member of the Irish Association for Play Therapy and Psychotherapy (IAPTP). I graduated from UCC with BA (Hons) Applied Psychology. My MA research focused on the power of play in supporting the parent-child relationship, and I am particularly passionate about supporting parents alongside my work with their child. I have extensive experience in working with children with serious illnesses and their families, and in working with adoption.
